Two case studies were presented to clarify the hurdles faced by production companies and how to deal with them. The role of project management and visual production companies has been understood in the production of mass media works.

Analysis of learning:

The main learning in this session was about project management in Hrakat company. Anoud Al-Shwaieer explained that Hrakat is a Saudi company founded in 2011 specialized in Visual Production in various fields. In more than 500 minutes of production,   and more than 45 customers were served for some of their work in Motion Animation, Amushin and Whiteboard. There are three types of services in the company of movements: 1 – communication and communication products 2 – informal communication 3 – development of electronic courses.

Clients have been recruited in various sectors, such as the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Communications and Housing, and the private sector. And the service of semi-governmental bodies: the body of institutions and mad.

The project division is divided into three types: the large project, the medium project and the small project. She explained each division and what it entails. In the big project, the project will have a duration of two years and a cost of 3 million and more, the average project is two years and cost 3 million, the small project is less than a year and cost less than 500 thousand.

In the beginning, Al-Anoud focused on the big project and explained it. She explained that the big project is: Long live Project Management Lifecycle. The first stage is the Initiation, the second stage is the Planning, the third is the Execution the fourth and the last is the closing. These are the stages of the project’s life to get the final product. In Project Management , Tolls or Software is used to help us manage these projects or manage these tasks, often in government sectors. PPM is used by Microsoft’s Soft Project, often for government agencies. There are also often hired companies such as  TRELLO, SLACK , TEAMWEEK , MANDY and BASECAMP.

Currently, in the company movements are used in the management of tasks in the projects of TRELLO and SLACK, and has already been used by BASECAMP and TEAMWORK and Wright. There are a lot of tulles depending on the needs of each project and destination and needs.

She took an example of their big project at Hrakat, which is the beginning of 2030. It is a Twitter account that shows animation videos. She explained that the idea of the project came up because Vision 2030 when published, was in a very formal style. A Twitter account named 2030 was designed to simplify vision, explain concepts, clarify executive programs, projects, achievements, etc. that occur in vision. The project is a major project for the company from April 2017 to 2030, in the big project it was divided into section and each year is section. Each section is a project but all of them are a great project. Then she spoke about how the work for Product 2030 from beginning to end.

The first step is the preparation step in the project management project for what you have a project in the pre-step of the step, if it is with third parties step baptism and so on, and clarified the first step we accomplish in the project are Project Charter Project Charter determines who is the master and what is the project manager and what are the powers of the project manager and the stockholder and also what are their tasks, project outputs and time period and all this is in the project charter. In the first step, the scope of work, team members, project management, and stockholders are explained to the second stage, the planning stage. At the planning stage, I have a time plan, a financial Plan and a teamwork. I have an alternative plan that is all in the planning of the team working on this project and at the end of the planning stage, we start the implementation phase. In the implementation phase, we carry out planning for example 2030 project. The company had products from the first product to the video, the animation is going through five stages which are the stage of the concept and the scenario and the second stage Storyboard, and stage illustrator, the final phase of the final production distribution every work passes stages.

Evaluation of learning:

In this session, I understood the importance of project management in visual production companies, which improve the way people communicate better through the use of creative visual materials. Many ministries and companies are using visual production to keep pace with media development. In any production company faced with some difficulties, Al-Anoud explained to us the problem encountered when dealing with the ministry of communications. The most important thing in this case  is that a customer is an important person for the company Hrakat and a short period of time is 6 days and photographs are required from 1940 in covenant King Abdul Aziz to the present time It is clear from this case  that in project management a person must be flexible and fast and know to work with time and changes. I liked very much the work of the Hrakat and the field of visual production and its role in the ease of communicating information to the public is a very important field in our time.
